Acts 1:8 Mission Health Check

Living Acts 1:8 Across Our Conference

Jesus calls His Church to make disciples and bear witness to the gospel, beginning where we live and extending to the ends of the earth. This calling includes acts of mercy, service, and care, but it is not limited to meeting practical needs. At the heart of Christian mission is the proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ so that people may hear, respond, and become disciples.

The Church Acts 1:8 Health Check is a simple tool to help each congregation evaluate how it is participating in mission locally, regionally, across cultures, and around the world. It is not meant to shame churches or compare congregations. It is meant to help churches pray, take inventory, celebrate where God is already at work, and consider faithful next steps.

Across the Mississippi–West Tennessee Conference, churches are already serving in many ways. Some congregations are meeting needs in their own neighborhoods, schools, and communities. Others are partnering with nearby churches and ministries to respond to regional needs. Some are building relationships across cultural and language lines. Others are praying for unreached people groups, supporting missionaries, or participating in global mission partnerships.

Every faithful effort matters. Large churches and small churches both have a part to play. Some churches may already have ministries in all four Acts 1:8 areas. Others may be taking their first steps. Either way, this evaluation helps your church and our conference see where God is working, where churches may need support, and where stronger mission partnerships can grow.
