Bishop Luther Oconer will begin serving the Mississippi–West Tennessee Conference and the rest of Episcopal Area 1 on November 1. He will visit our conference November 15–17, 2026, with several public worship gatherings scheduled during his visit.
On Sunday, November 15, Bishop Oconer will preach at Christ Methodist Church in Memphis during worship at 8:30AM and 11AM. That evening, he will preach at Aldersgate Methodist Church in Jackson, Tennessee, during worship at 6PM, followed by a meet-and-greet reception.
On Tuesday, November 17, Madison Methodist Church in Madison, Mississippi, will host a worship gathering at 6:30PM, where Bishop Oconer will preach. A reception to meet him will follow at 7:30PM in the Fellowship Hall.
These gatherings provide opportunities for churches and individuals across the conference to meet, pray, and worship with our new bishop.
