Rev. Charlie Harper Named Board of Ministry Registrar
Rev. Charlie Harper has been named the new registrar for the Board of Ministry of the Mississippi-West Tennessee Annual Conference of the Global Methodist Church.
Charlie serves as pastor of Grace Methodist Church in Dyersburg, Tennessee. In his new role as registrar, he will work with the Board of Ministry and clergy candidates as they move through the processes related to licensing, ordination, and clergy membership within the Global Methodist Church.
Charlie steps into the role previously held by Rev. James Walters, who died in a car accident on September 11. At the time of his death, James was serving as pastor of Avon Methodist Church and Glen Allan Methodist Church in addition to his work as registrar for the Board of Ministry.
We are thankful to Charlie for taking on this important responsibility and ask you to pray for him as he begins serving our clergy candidates and the Board of Ministry in this new role.
What Does a Board of Ministry Registrar Do?
The Board of Ministry oversees much of the process related to clergy qualifications, licensing, ordination, and clergy membership within an annual conference. The registrar helps organize that work by communicating with candidates, receiving and maintaining required documentation, tracking candidates as they move through the process, and helping ensure the Board of Ministry has the information it needs.
For clergy candidates, the registrar also serves as an important point of contact for required forms, documentation, deadlines, and next steps.
