Certified Lay Ministry is a series of five courses that prepares everyday members of the Global Methodist Church to serve in real and practical ways. It gives ministry leaders and church servants the tools they need to provide faithful support and, when needed, to step in for their pastor or assist other local congregations during times of sickness, vacation, emergency, or when a pastor moves to a new appointment. The training can also be very helpful for Sunday school leaders who want to learn how to build lessons directly from Scripture instead of always relying on commentaries or prewritten materials.

While in-person classes remain our preferred format, some courses will also be available by Zoom to offer a more accessible and flexible path to certification. Participants seeking Certified Lay Minister status must complete more than half of their total coursework in person. For courses offered by Zoom, the Zoom link will be sent to participants after they have registered and paid during the week of the event.
