Daily Prayer Guide For Annual Conference 2026

May 1 — Holy Spirit

Holy Spirit, we invite Your presence and guidance as we plan our Annual Conference. Your Word reminds us that when the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide us into all truth. We seek Your wisdom, inspiration, and discernment in every decision we make.

John 16:13
“But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on His own; He will speak only what He hears, and He will tell you what is yet to come.”

We trust in Your guidance, Holy Spirit, and invite You to lead us into planning a conference that glorifies God and blesses all who attend.

In Jesus’ name, Amen

May 2 — Leadership

Lord, we pray for those in leadership positions in the Mississippi-West Tennessee Global Methodist Church. We pray Isaiah 30:21.

Isaiah 30:21
“Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it.’”

Provide them with the guidance they need to lead well. We pray that those in leadership seek wisdom and courage from above to lead according to Your will and Your direction. We ask for humble hearts and willing spirits. Help us to continually support those in leadership with our prayers, encouragement, and faithfulness.

In Christ Jesus, Amen

May 3 — Serving and Preparation

Lord, we pray for those who are organizing Annual Conference and for all those who are serving behind the scenes in so many ways. We ask for creativity, and for physical, mental, and spiritual strength as they prepare for Conference.

1 Corinthians 14:40
“But all things should be done decently and in order.”

Holy Spirit, fill each one and equip each one for the tasks at hand. Provide rest when it is needed. Strengthen them with the joy of the Lord.

Amen

May 4 — Speakers and Hearers

Father, we lift up those speaking at Annual Conference and those who will be hearing the messages. May each speaker be led and filled by the Holy Spirit. We pray for hearts and minds that are willing to speak Your Word, to receive Your Word, and to act upon Your Word.

2 Timothy 1:7
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

Amen

May 5 — Evangelism

Lord, we pray for opportunities to share Jesus with others. We pray for those who do not yet know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, those in darkness, emptiness, aloneness, and hopelessness. Prepare their hearts to receive You, Lord Jesus.

Give us boldness in Christ alone. Let Your kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven.

John 14:6
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Amen

May 6 — Pastors

Lord, we lift up to You the pastors among us. Thank You for each pastor whom You call, equip, and send to shepherd Your Church. Empower them to boldly proclaim Your Word. Provide grace upon grace. Give each one vision and clarity to lead and shepherd well.

Help them to hear Your voice, trust in You fully, and follow where You lead. Strengthen them and renew them for the work You have called them to.

1 Peter 5:2–3
“Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be.”

Amen

May 7 — The Church

Father, in Christ Jesus we come and pray. May the Global Methodist Church be faithful to You and submit to You daily.

Proverbs 3:5–6
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”

We praise You, for You are faithful beyond measure. Your love is beyond measure. You are merciful beyond measure, and Your grace is beyond measure.

We thank You for the work You are doing and for inviting us to be involved and active in what You are doing here and throughout the world. We pray for the Acts 1:8 church. We pray for the making of disciples. Lord, keep us faithful in love and in fellowship. May others know we belong to You by our love.

Amen

May 8 — Unity

Lord, you said in Psalm 133:1-3…Behold, how good and pleasant it is when Your church family dwells in unity! It is the precious oil of the Spirit on our heads running down to our feet. In unity the Body of Christ, Your Church, is blessed by the Father. Jesus…we pray for unity at Annual Conference. We pray for Your leading and our following. May we surrender our agendas for Your agenda!

Amen

May 9 — Peace

Jesus, you said in Isaiah 26:3—You keep your church in perfect peace whose mind is on you. We trust you! We ask for your will and love to pour over this Annual Conference. May your peace cover us like a warm blanket. In Jesus’ name we pray, asking for your peace.

Amen

May 10 — Discernment

Solomon asked for discernment which thrilled your heart, and you gave him discernment and much more. We also ask for discernment…to hear your voice and your directions for Annual Conference. We trust that you will give discernment and much more. May each church in the Annual Conference walk in step with you. Like Proverbs 3:5a says…We trust in you with our all our heart.

Amen

May 11 — Truth

Jesus, you said in John 14:6..” I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” …also in Psalm 119:160, The sum of your word is truth, and every one of your righteous rules endures forever.

This world says truth is subjective. We know and proclaim your truth over your Church and this Annual Conference. Give us the courage to proclaim your truth given to us in your Word to the world. In Jesus’ name we pray!

Amen

May 12 — Joy

Restore over our Annual Conference the joy of your salvation and uphold us with a willing spirit according to Psalm 51:12. May the Mississippi-West Tennessee Annual Conference shout for joy when we sing your praises. [Psalm 71:23] Our joy rests and comes from you, Jesus! Holy Spirit, help us to give Jesus the praises he deserves…overflow our joy. May the halls of Annual Conference shake because of joy in you! Praise God.

Amen

May 13 — Kindness

Our Annual Conference churches are God’s chosen and dearly loved…so we clothe ourselves in kindness. [Col.3:12] May the kindness that flows through us by the Holy Spirit be evident and attracting to all. May all those we meet be drawn to our Lord and Savior. As we have opportunity let us be kind to all in Jesus’ name.

Amen

May 14 — Light

John 8:12 tells us you are the Light of the World! Psalm 119:105 says you’re your word is a lamp to my feet! We pray that your light so shines on this Annual Conference and that people see and glorify you. May there be no darkness at all. May there be only your brilliant light. In Jesus’ name—You are our light and salvation; whom shall we fear? [Psalm 27:1a]

Amen

May 15 — Devotion to Prayer

Heavenly Father, we ask today to grow us and ground us in prayer as a conference and a denomination. Let us individually make prayer a priority, filling our prayer time with praise, thanksgiving and requests for opportunities to grow your church. Let us meet with our own church prayer groups to seek your will and ways within our churches and communities. Let us be faithful to pray for our conference and denomination and persecuted Christian brothers and sisters in Christ. Thank you for the privilege of your presence in our lives, and your desire to fellowship with us. [Colossians 4:2]

Amen

May 16 — Gratitude

Our gracious Heavenly Father, we thank you. We praise you. We are not worthy so much as to gather up the crumbs under your table, but you are the same God who, through your gracious love and mercy, offers us a seat at the table.

Father, we come to you. Asking you to prepare our hearts, our minds, our bodies, our calendars. We ask for your wisdom and guidance as we approach Annual Conference. Help us to seek You. Your will. For your Church, Your Kingdom, Your Glory.

Father, we pray that ALL we do be to honor and glorify you. We pray that you would dissect our hearts and lives in such a way that what is left is only to bring you honor and praise.

God, you are Good! You are Mighty! We know that you can and will move through Annual Conference. Be with each person in attendance. Prepare their hearts to be continuously sanctified by your gospel to magnify your kingdom.

Be with each pastor in attendance. Renew them, Lord. Uplift where they need it. Bring them alongside each other in friendship, in family. In remembrance of the great commission.

Lord, remind us all how deeply important missions and discipleship are. Burden each of our hearts for it. Help us take that burden to reach the nations and to reach our next-door neighbors. Father, your Gospel is important. Help us all not to lose sight of it.

Lord, thank you for the Mississippi West Tennessee Conference. Thank you for Lauren Porter. Thank you for Cheryl Prather. Thank you for Kyle Wilson. Thank you for the Mega Manila Conference and the Covenant Conference. Thank you for Bishop Scott Jones.

Lord, you are gracious, mighty, merciful, loving, and wonderful. Thank you for loving us. We love you, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

Amen

May 17

Most Gracious and Holy Father,  We give you praise this day for your goodness and truth. Father, you never forsake us! You loved us enough to send your one and only Son to die for us…we were not and are not worthy. You love us anyway.

Father forgive us when we take you Lordship and your grace for granted. Open our hearts, eyes and minds to see your great love and sacrifice for us each day.

As Annual Conference draws near…we seek you Lord, your will and your way. We ask for the presence of the Holy Spirit …guiding each discussion before, during and after AC. May we align with your will and desires and not our own. In The Name above all names…Jesus-we pray!

May 18

Heavenly Father, within the great body of believers in the Global Methodist Church we ask for transformation and eyes to see opportunities for ministries before us, to see that which is unseen.

Father fill us and strengthen us to develop and mold disciples who will transform their homes, schools, communities, states, and countries…all for your glory Lord. May each congregation and each member of a congregation  know your call and follow passionately after it.

Father, we ask for unity among the brothers and sisters. May we offer grace and forgiveness as needed. Lord allow no area for the enemy to have even the slightest foothold into the ministry as your people do the work of your kingdom on Earth. We ask all this in the name of your precious Son…Jesus, Jesus, Jesus. Come Lord.

Amen

May 19

Our Father In Heaven, Holy Is Your Name! We recognize how great is your goodness that you store  up for those who fear you, let it be as we pray for the assembling of the 2026 Mississippi-West Tennessee Annual Conference. We pray we are shaken and filled with the Holy Spirit to speak Your Word boldly. We trust that your Word will not return void. We ask for a fresh anointing of all involved…before, during and after this conference. Please go ahead of the assembling making the crooked places straight. Cause the eyes of all to be enlightened to the hope of their calling, the riches of the glorious inheritance of your saints, and the un-measurable greatness of your power for those who believe according to the working of your mighty power.

Amen

May 20

Lord God Almighty, May your Word be as a lamp to our feet and a light for our path …as each step made is steady through your promises. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Thank you that your Word is alive and active, sharper than any two edge sword. During AC may the words of each mouth and the meditations of each heart be pleasing to you. May hearts be confident in you, singing praises with all their might, confident in you. Prepare each person to share of your mercy, that is higher than the heavens, your faithfulness, that never ever fails and your righteousness, that is all mighty. We are willing to be committed to you…willing to trust in you and your will. We know that you brings all things together to your glory.   Grant us rest in you as we wait patiently for your loving guidance.  This we pray—in, through and because of the blood of Jesus.

Amen

May 21

Father, prayers are being lifted to you for those who are organizing each phase of our Annual Conference. We join with others in praying  for the organizers among us! We lift up our clergy and lay leaders asking that work together well. We pray for wisdom from you as they make decisions for the future of our churches. We lift up each speaker—may each search their heart for the guidance of the Holy Spirit as they prepare talks to share. We pray that they will feel encouragement from the prayers we offer up to you for them.

In Your Name Lord Jesus we pray.

Amen

May 22

Lord we are glad and rejoice before you…happy and joyful! We sing in praise to You and rejoice for You are our Lord. Lord, we thank you for being a father to the fatherless and a defender of widows. How great is our God…for  You set the lonely in families and You lead out the prisoners with singing! (prompts from Psalm 68)

There is no one like You! We praise You, we are so very grateful for we are now in the family of God through Christ Jesus. We are no longer fatherless for we now have a faithful loving Father.  We are not without a groom... for we are now of the Bride of Christ.  We are no longer lonely for You have us set into a true family.  We are no longer prisoners for there are no chains that hold us anymore…we are free indeed! We are Yours and You are our God!  Praise God.

Amen

May 23

Father, We lift the musicians and singers among us up to You! We thank you for the music that You have placed within them. We thank You for their leading Annual Conference in worship and in song. Thank you that they have worked and prepared and joyfully are serving both at Conference and in their home churches and communities. We pray Holy Spirit fill each one of us with Your songs of praise.

“Your procession is seen, O God,
the procession of my God, my King, into the sanctuary—
the singers in front, the musicians last,
between them young women playing tambourines:
Bless God in the great congregation…”

Psalm 68:24-26a

Amen

May 24

Gracious and Holy God,

We humbly come before you. We seek your face, your will, & your ways. Please reveal yourself to us as only you can do. Jeremiah 29:12-13: remind us that we will call on you and come and pray to you and you will listen to us, O God. You are the God who longs to hear from your children.  You are the God who never slumbers or sleep. You are attentive, patient & expectant. May we be that way too.  Your word reminds us often that when we seek you we will find you when we seek you with all our hearts. Help our hearts be focused and intentional. Help our hearts stay pure that we might not sin against you. We pray for forgiveness for the times we have failed you, chose other thing above or before you; when we have sought our comfort over sacrifice and obedience.

Amen

May 25

Father, forgive us we pray. O Lord, we long to behold you, to see a glimpse of your glory, to be engulfed by your Presence and Spirit. O Lord, prepare our hearts and minds to encounter and worship you like never before. Not to us, O Lord, not to us but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness.  You, O Lord are worthy of all the honor, of all the glory and all the praise. We pray this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus!

Amen!

May 26

Gracious and Holy God,

Have your own way Lord, have your own way as the hymn says, "for you are the Potter and we are the clay." O Lord, shape and mold us as a people and as your church. May we surrender and submit our wants and desires to you that they may align with your purpose for our lives and for our churches. Scriptures tells us that your ways are higher than ways and your thoughts are higher than our thoughts. O Lord, help us be sensitive to your leading and your movement even if it strange or unusual to us. Your ways are not our ways. We are so grateful for this. We are so very thankful for the ways in which you move and act in our lives & how your grace is always at work around us even we can't see it or feel it.

Encourage and inspire us to step out of our comfort zones and away from "status quo" or "business as usual." Give us insights, inspirations and revelations of what you have for us as a people and as a church. Give us revelation of what exactly you are calling us to do in this particular time and season as we meet for Annual Conference. May we have ears to hear and eyes to see.

Amen

May 27

Lord,  please put a renewed spirit and passion in our hearts for you and your word, your love and your grace and people you place in our path.  May we set our minds on things above, set our hearts and minds on You! May our hearts be filled with eternity, hope and peace and our mouths filled praise, worship and witness. May your will be in done in each of our hearts and lives, in each of our churches and communities and world-wide. May your will be done during Annual Conference and within the Global Methodist Church. Not our will, but your will be done.  We humbly pray this in the mighty name of Jesus.

Amen

May 28

Come Holy Spirit and awaken the hearts of your faithful; renew in us your Spirit that we may reflect Your Spirit on all who sees or hears us and You will be moved and we will be recreated, renewed, restored .  Thank you Jesus for sending us your Spirit.  Help us to move beyond what we know towards what we don’t know or feel and to rest into Your space, Your time that moves us beyond what we know or can understand putting our complete trust wholeheartedly with You.  Take our concerns and doubts, wants and needs and lead us Lord to give it all to You and open our hearts, minds and souls to rest in your warm embrace.  Thank you Lord for allowing us to be given the honor to be ushered into your Holy Presence.  Bend us, shape us, move us to be a refreshing representation of who You desire us to be.  In Your Holy Name.

Amen.

May 29

Heavenly Father, in Christ Jesus--through Christ Jesus we thank you for this time together, for this time together worshipping you,  for the business that has been done, for the inspiration, equipping, and anointing from the Holy Spirit. As we go back to our churches and communities keep us burning for you. Fill us each day for the ministries that you have for your people to be about doing. Go before us into our homes, workplaces, schools, cities and towns. Help us to see with your eyes and to seek your will in all situations. We pray we hear your voice and the voice of flesh and doubt be removed…that we might be bold in Christ only! Increase our love for you and for others. Increase our faith. We place each church, each life  and each community into your loving hands. We trust in you…use us to your glory…we surrender all to you! Praise God!

Amen
